MAPLETON COLLISION RESULTS IN CHARGES

(MAPLETON TOWNSHIP, ON) - Four people have been sent to hospital, and one person has been charged following a collision in Mapleton.
On April 13, 2026, at approximately 3:45 pm, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 6 between Sideroad 18 and Sideroad 19 within Mapleton Township, where one vehicle attempted to pass another vehicle and collided into a ditch.
Four individuals were transported to a local hospital, two with minimal injuries, one with minor, non-life-threatening injuries and one with major, non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 58-year-old from Kitchener, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Careless driving causing bodily harm (two counts)
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Offences Court in Guelph at a later date.
